About this previewer

This page answers the most common operational question about cron: “when is this actually going to fire?” Type any valid five-field expression and the previewer lists the next ten execution times, calculated for your browser’s local timezone, alongside a live countdown to the very next one that updates every second.

The calculation happens entirely in your browser using the same rules described in the syntax reference. Times are computed by jumping from field to field — month, then day, then hour, then minute — rather than scanning minute by minute, so even sparse schedules such as 0 0 29 2 * (February 29th, a leap-day-only rule) resolve instantly instead of timing out.

A few things worth knowing. First, day-of-month and day-of-week are evaluated as an OR when both are restricted, which means 0 0 13 * 5 runs on the 13th of the month and every Friday, not just on Friday the 13th. Second, the countdown and list reflect your computer’s clock and timezone; if a server runs in UTC, its cron will fire at a different wall-clock time than what you see here.

Once you have a schedule you like, head back to the interpreter to read a plain-language explanation, or browse the common expressions to discover patterns you can reuse.
