Reading these tables

The figures here are indicative averages — a single snapshot meant to let you compare products and countries at a glance, not a live offer from any lender. Mortgages are broken out by country because the market structure differs: US mortgages are typically 15- or 30-year fixed, UK and Canadian loans lean on shorter fixed terms (2- and 5-year), and Australian borrowers commonly hold variable-rate owner-occupied loans. Personal and auto loans are shown as US averages across credit tiers and terms.

Deposit rates behave differently from loan rates — they are what banks pay you. You will usually earn a higher yield the longer you lock your money up, which is why a 1-year CD can pay more than high-yield savings but a 5-year CD may pay less than the 1-year in an inverted-rate environment. Use the filter pills above to focus on one category, or search by product name. To see what any of these rates means for a real loan, open the loan calculator or the rate comparison tool.
